Had a chance to watch the last cricket match - India (vs) Sri Lanka...was entertaining although it sucked that I had to stay awake throughout the nite to watch the full game...got my money's worth,watching Mahinder Dhoni's innings..Dhoni resembles a 'Dhobi' the way he bats..No class whatsover, but it does'nt matter until he keeps slogging the ball and helps India keep winning....
Was heart-warming to see India give the lankans an ass whooping,6-1 in the 7-game series..When I played cricket this summer in the Chicago midwest league ,there was this Lankan guy whom I played against,who was running his mouth(India was playin miserably when they toured SL at that point of time)making comments like - 'Sachin should retire!','India can win only against Bangladesh','Sehwag is a slogger'....I had no idea that these guys had the so-called 'expertise' and 'vision' to comment on the state and affairs of indian cricket..I have a close friend in Australia who plays club cricket there and he tells me often that his Lankan cricket mates have lots of 'idiotic' assessment and views on Indian cricket...This 6-1 whooping should shut their mouth's for sometime now..
Actually,I feel that with Sanath Jayasuriya out,the downslide years/demise for the lankan cricket have begun..they will soon be back to their 'minnion' years!!! The series against the South Africans starting next week should be interesting..I would be surprised if India can win that series too!
Sourav Ganguly can go back to Nagma full-time now although I would like him to come back to the team as player,perform well and make a graceful exit since he deserves one for his contributions to the Indian cricket in the past..
